Business Cards Project

For the business card project I used the creations I made from the logo project and used them to make my business cards. I wanted my business cards to be simple and modern. I wanted them to follow the minimalistic style of the logos I created. I also chose to use a lot of lines and cool toned colors for my business cards in order to give off a modern and sleek feeling. I found most of my inspiration for my business cards by looking up other business card designs on the internet. Through this project I learned how to make business cards in Illustrator. I also learned how to make a clipping mask. On one of my business cards the logo is of a wolf and its head is pointing up howling at the moon. I wanted to make this image the majority of the card. I enlarged the image to where just enough of the edges were falling off the card but it still looked great. Then I went ahead and made the mask. Overall, I really enjoyed coming up with the designs of the cards.

Logo Project

For the logo project I wanted to create logos that would be minimalist but still interesting to look at. I looked for various images of animal line art and minimalistic drawings until I finally came across one that I really liked. Once I found the image of the wolf that I liked I continued searching for more images of wolves that I liked. After I found all the images I wanted to use I had to trace them in various ways in Illustrator to create the logos and sort of make them my own. After doing this, I was left with my final designs and I then choose my favorite three to then make into my business cards. In doing this project I got a lot of practice using the pen tool in Illustrator by having to trace the various images I chose. The most challenging part of this project was doing the tracing. I wanted the images to still be recognizable in the end after I was done tracing them. Overall, my favorite part of the project was seeing the end results of the logos I had come up with. I was very impressed with what I can up with and I personally think they are pretty good.

Calligram Project

For the calligram project I decided to use an elephant because they are my favorite animal in the world. I admire how an elephant is such a large creature, who at first glance can seem intimidating, but these animals symbolize strength and kindness. To start this project, I first had to find the line art drawing of an elephant that I wanted to use, something not too simple or too complex. Then, I had to outline the entire line art in Illustrator. The last thing was finding a poem that reflects an elephant and replacing all the lines of text with the line from the poem. The most challenging part for me about the calligram project was outlining the line art in the beginning. Using the pen tool to draw the lines and curves just right can be very challenging. Also this was my first time using Adobe Illustrator but I’ve used Photoshop and they seem very similar with the tools they have.

Canvas Project

For the canvas project I wanted to create something simple and the design I came up with was a little house like you might see in a children’s book or something. I started the image by making the background with the sky and the ground. Then I continued on with the sun and finished with the house. One of the hardest parts of making this image was the rays on the sun. It was a trial and error process until I got them all in the right spot. Since I’ve never used canvas before this project taught me how to make changes to coding in order to create images.

Audio Project

For the audio project, that goes along with the animation project, using garage band I created a simple music track fo...
